Opatija has a beautiful botanical garden. With plants and trees from all over the world.

                    The "Girl With Gull" was set up in 1956 on a location overlooking the sea.

The scene is especially impressive at night, when sculpture is illuminated by special reflectors, or in bad weather, when the waves break on the shore, and the water poured over the rocks, creating the impression nymphs born of the foam.
